Day 54 Theme: Bokeh

Bokeh, a popular topic among photographers, is obtained by the photographer using a wide open aperture to create a distinct blur the background of an image while maintaining the clear focus of the object in the foreground. Nikon explains the process on their website here. Until recently, I didn’t know the difference between this and Depth of Field, and to be honest, it still isn’t overly clear to me. But, it seems that I have been taking photos with a Bokeh effect, even without even knowing it. 🙂

This photo was taken on Sunday while walking around the gardens at a local museum.
