Day 16 Theme: Get LOW

Today, the goal is to take a photo from a low angle. This is another way to change the perspective of the photograph, allowing the audience to view a somewhat ordinary object from a different view.  As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, which you can read here if you’d like, I am particularly drawn to photographs shot at low angles. I enjoy shooting at low angles, unfortunately, I find it increasingly difficult to get up once I am down there (perhaps I should work on that as well this year).

I went out today, hoping to find something to shoot, but once I got home, I realized I hadn’t really anything to post as my project theme, so I got down on my floor and had a mini photo shoot with my dog, Daisy.

Daisy is in very few of my photographs, mainly because she is almost 8 years old and seriously doesn’t have the desire to play with the other dogs when we go outside. She prefers to stay in and enjoy her time alone (old and cantankerous? Hmmm, sounds a bit like me). She wasn’t overly excited when I joined her down on the floor and put my camera in her face, but eventually she did let me get a few decent shots, which you will see in later posts. And, excuse the fact that she is in need of a bath, she just had one the other day, but it seems all she has to do is walk outside and she comes back in filthy! Oy, I had no idea Bassett Hounds were such stinky dogs, it’s a good thing she’s so cute!

Also, for this shot, I decided to use my 50mm prime lens. I am working on using it more often as it’s truly a great lens.

So, that’s it for today. Enjoy, and I’ll see you tomorrow.
