Day 12 Theme: Shallow Depth of Field

Today’s theme is “Shallow Depth of Field (DoF)” — a technical aspect of photography that describes the area that is in focus within a photograph. Tony Howell explains DoF in more detail on his website here.

My sample of shallow DoF is that of a walkway into a small, historical cemetery in my local area.

I took my camera with me today while I was out and about  running errands and having lunch with my Sister-in-law, and decided on my way home to stop by and explore this small historical church and cemetery.

St. Margaret’s Episcopal church is a historic Carpenter Gothic church founded in 1840 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places listing in Florida. You can read the Wikipedia article about it here.

The cemetery is quaint and peaceful (as a cemetery should be) and though I didn’t look at every headstone, I did see a few dated in the late 1800’s.

Below are some of the photos I took while walking around.

Enjoy, and I will see you tomorrow.

Tomorrow’s theme: Peace.
